Best practices for migratory bird care during oil spill response

The 2025 Best Practices for Migratory Bird Care During Oil Spill Response updates the original 2003 document developed to provide national guidance on best practices for keeping unoiled birds away from an oil spill and for dealing with oiled birds. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service spill response personnel, rehabilitators, veterinarians, and federal response agency representatives reviewed the 2003 Best Practices and incorporated advances in the care of migratory birds during oil spill response into the 2025 Best Practices
