Agencies »Ê¹ÚÌåÓýappÏÂÔØ Together on Lions Gate Incident

DENVER--The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) and the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the euthanizing of six tigers and lions and five bears last month at the Lions Gate Animal Sanctuary.  Special Agents from the Service are working closely with Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office to determine whether violations did or did not occur

Once the investigation is complete, both agencies will work with their respective federal and county prosecutors to determine what, if any, action is appropriate.  At that time additional information will be made available.

The mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is working with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.
