Free Programs on the National Elk Refuge

Discovery Drives | 8:30-11AM - Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays through August: Join a Refuge Naturalist for a free driving tour of the National Elk Refuge. Topics may vary but include birding, history, and wildlife watching. Reservations are required and can be made in person at the visitor center.

Painting Sessions | Morning & Evenings throughout the summer. Please stop by the visitor center to learn more and sign up! Programs are free and all supplies are provided.

Junior Naturalist Program | Year-round: Do you love exploring nature? The Refuge Junior Naturalist Program is a great resource to connect children, families, and nature lovers of all ages to our beautiful natural world. Stop by the visitor center to get your book and earn a patch!
