Warning: dangerous rip currents are expected through the week due to impacts from Hurricane Erin. Even strong swimmers can become fatigued quickly in a strong current. Please use extreme caution when enjoying the beach, monitor children closely, and when in doubt don't go out. A life ring is available at the end of the Lot 1 board walk for emergencies.

Plover chicks have fledged for the summer and the entire refuge beach is now open for public use as of Tuesday, August 12. Thank you for respecting closed areas so our most vulnerable visitors can thrive.
